Anna Frank

In 1942 Anne received from her father a diary for her 13th birthday, and wrote in an early entry: "I hope that you will be a great support and comfort to me." When she started to write in her diary, she was still attending the Jewish Secondary School.

In that time, the German activity expanded andIn July 6, 1942 The Franks moved into the "Secret Annexe" – a hiding place in the rooms behind Otto Frank’s office, to save their lives.

They lived in the hiding place, together with the Van Pels family and Fritz Pfeffer, for two years.

Anne had spend most of her time in the hiding place writing in her diary, and she had described the most intimate details of daily life during her two-year stay in the Secret Annexe. Anne was also talking about her feelings and fears and how she's spending her life in the Secret Annexe. Anne wrote almost every day in her diary until her last diary entry on August 1, 1944.
On August 4, 1944, three days later, the Franks, Van Pels, and Mr. Pfeffer were discovered and arrested by the Gestapo. Anne, her sister Margot and her mother were sent to
Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
In March 1945, a typhus epidemic spread through the camp and Anne was also infected. A few weeks later Anne died, and she was buried in a mass grave.
